Masatake Miyoshi

Vice President, Client Relations

Masatake Miyoshi is Vice President of IMS Health operations in Japan. IMS is the world's leading provider of market intelligence to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries serving more than 100 countries.

He is responsible for planning and implementing business and management strategies toward securing IMS Japanfs continued middle- to long-term growth. He also directs preparation and execution of communication strategies to boost the IMS Japan brand.

He joined IMS in April 2009. Prior to joining IMS, he was engaged in investigations and analyses of Japanfs pharmaceutical companies and industry from 1995 as a Managing Director and Senior Analyst (pharmaceuticals) at the leading U.S. investment bank affiliate Merrill Lynch Japan Securities.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, he was a securities analyst at the Wako Research Institute, which was the research unit of Wako Securities (now Mizuho Securities). He has been working as an analyst, mostly focusing on the pharmaceutical industry, for over 20 years.

During his career in the securities industry, he was regularly ranked as one of Japanfs top analysts, and presented diverse industry seminars and lectures. He also has close ties to government. He served as a member of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (the present Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare) 1994 "Committee for the Future Outlook of the Pharmaceutical Industry", and an expert witness to the Ministryfs 2003 "Medical Device Industry Vision Roundtable".

His publications include "Pharmaceutical Product Market and Sales Forecast Know-how for R&D Investment 10 Years into the Future [in Japanese] (co-author)".

Miyoshi hold a B.A. from the Faculty of Law of Kyoto Sangyo University in March 1985.
