


Norihiko Minato
President
Norihiko Minato is President of IMS Health operations in Japan. IMS is the world's leading provider of market intelligence to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries serving more than 100 countries.
He joined IMS as Chief Operating Officer in March 2009, and assumed the position of
President from January 2010. Prior to joining IMS, Minato was President of the Asia
Pacific and Japan subsidiaries of the leading communication company AT&T, assisting
in the globalization of the communications business and contributing to AT&Tfs
provision of a comprehensive global network.
Before joining AT&T, he was network service planning and development manager at
IBM Japan and in charge of network service business development (M&A, Alliance
etc.) in IBMfs Global Network Services Division. After that, he served in key posts at
IBM Japan, including network services marketing manager and director in charge of
network operations in the Asia-Pacific region. With AT&Tfs acquisition of IBM Japanfs
global network business, he moved to AT&T Japan (formerly AT&T Global Services),
where has was appointed director of Asia Pacific Operations. He joined IBM in 1985.
Minato holds a master degree in 1985 and BE in 1983 from Tokyo University majoring
in nuclear engineering.
